What is a vape starter kit?
A vape starter kit brings together a rechargeable e-cigarette and the model's matching parts in one kit. A pod kit uses a pod, while a tank kit consists of a battery unit or mod and a tank. The parts included differ between kits.
At cigge.se the range covers vape starter kits in pod format, all-in-one devices with an integrated tank and kits with a separate mod and tank. The models differ in activation, settings, batteries and which pods or coils they use.

A vape starter kit contains a rechargeable e-cigarette, but not every kit includes a charging cable. Vaporesso XROS 5 Mini comes with the device, a pod and a USB-C cable. OXVA Xlim GO 2 comes with the device and a pod, without a charging cable. E-liquid is not included in these two kits. Vaporesso GEN SE needs a separate 18650 battery, which is not included.
Vape starter kit and e-cigarette starter kit are names for kits in which the device comes with the parts listed for the model. This does not mean that e-liquid, a charging cable and external batteries are always included. Vape starter set and vape kit are other names for a vape starter kit.
The term rechargeable vape is often used for starter kits and other rechargeable vapes that charge via USB and are used with e-liquid.

Vape starter kits for beginners
The difference between starter kits with few settings and adjustable kits lies in how the device is activated and how the power is set. Vaporesso XROS 5 Mini has no function buttons and activates when you inhale. OXVA Xlim GO 2 also activates when you inhale and adjusts the power automatically. Vaporesso GEN SE has adjustable power up to 80 W.
MTL means that the vapour is first drawn into the mouth and then down into the lungs. DTL means a direct draw into the lungs. The resistance of the pod or coil, the airflow and the power range affect which draw type and e-liquid the model is intended for. XROS 5 Mini is an MTL pod system used with XROS pods, while GEN SE uses GTi coils in a tank.
What is included in a vape starter kit?
- A rechargeable vape or e-cigarette.
- A pod or tank with its matching coil in the refillable kits compared below.
- A charging cable when it is included in the package, for example a USB-C cable with XROS 5 Mini.
E-liquid is normally not included in a vape starter kit and is bought separately, for example as e-juice.

Which e-juice suits a vape starter kit?
Which e-juice suits depends on the pod or coil and the device's power range. For some pod systems a balanced VG/PG ratio is given, for example 50VG/50PG. Kits with a sub-ohm tank may instead be intended for e-liquid with a higher VG content.
For Vaporesso XROS 5 Mini, for example, the product information gives 50VG/50PG. Vaporesso Armour Ultra uses GTi coils for DTL and e-liquid with a higher VG content, for example shortfill. A rechargeable device for prefilled pods, on the other hand, is not filled with e-juice from a bottle: VEEV ONE Mobility Kit is used with VEEV ONE pods, which are sold separately.
Refillable vape and rechargeable vape – what is the difference?
A rechargeable vape has a battery that can be charged again. A refillable vape has a pod or tank that is filled with e-juice from a bottle. A device can have both properties: Vaporesso XROS 5 Mini and Joyetech eGo AIO 2 are both rechargeable and refillable.
So rechargeable does not automatically mean refillable. VEEV ONE Mobility Kit has a rechargeable battery unit but uses prefilled pods. They are not filled from a bottle; the pod is replaced when the liquid runs out. In XROS 5 Mini the pod is refilled with e-juice and the whole pod is replaced when the built-in coil is used up. In eGo AIO 2 the tank is refilled and the BF/BFC coil is replaced separately.

Rechargeable vapes in starter kits
Rechargeable vapes in starter kits either have built-in batteries or use replaceable batteries. Battery capacity, charging time and compatible accessories vary between models.
Rechargeable vape with a built-in or replaceable battery
XROS 5 Mini has a built-in 1500 mAh battery, and Joyetech eGo AIO 2 has a built-in 1700 mAh battery. GEN SE uses a replaceable 18650 battery that is sold separately. All three examples charge via USB-C. USB-C and micro-USB are different connectors; the cable must have the right connector for the device. Battery capacity and charging current differ between the models.
In XROS 5 Mini and Xlim GO 2 the coil is built into the pod, so the whole pod is replaced when the coil is used up. Joyetech eGo AIO 2 uses separate BF/BFC coils, and GEN SE uses GTi coils. These parts are not interchangeable between the systems. The range also includes coils and batteries that are sold separately.

Vape starter kit terms
- Pod
- Liquid container that connects to a compatible battery unit. It can be refillable or prefilled and have a built-in coil.
- Tank
- Container for e-liquid. In the examples eGo AIO 2 and GEN SE the coil is replaced separately in the tank.
- Coil
- Heating element that heats the e-liquid. Its resistance is given in ohms, Ω.
- Mod
- Battery unit with electronics to power a compatible tank. GEN SE is an example with adjustable power.
- MTL and DTL
- MTL means mouth to lung; DTL means direct to lung. The terms describe the draw type.
- VG/PG
- The ratio of vegetable glycerin to propylene glycol in the e-liquid. 50VG/50PG means equal parts of these two base liquids.
- mAh and W
- mAh describes battery capacity. W, watt, describes power. A higher mAh figure is not a fixed promise of a certain usage time.
