A 1 ml syringe is used for amounts up to 1 ml. Syringes of 5 ml and 10 ml are used when larger volumes need to be measured. Use the smallest size that holds the entire amount, as a smaller syringe usually has finer gradation and makes small volumes easier to read.
Draw up the liquid slowly and check that there is no air bubble in the syringe. Hold the syringe at eye level and read the graduation at the edge of the plunger that is closest to the syringe opening. Push the liquid back and measure again if an air bubble affects the volume.
A mixing cup is suitable when several larger liquid amounts need to be collected and mixed in the same container. A dosing syringe provides better control over small volumes. A common workflow is therefore to measure smaller volumes with a syringe and mix all ingredients in the cup.
The bottle must hold at least the final volume of the mixture. A 60 ml bottle, for example, fits a mixture of 50 ml and leaves 10 ml of space for shaking. A 120 ml bottle can similarly be used for 100 ml of liquid and leaves 20 ml of empty space.
Rinse reusable syringes, cups and bottles immediately after use with lukewarm water. If needed, a small amount of unscented dish soap can be used, followed by thorough rinsing. Allow the parts to air‑dry completely before using them again. It is advisable to use separate syringes for flavor, base liquid and nicotine‑containing liquid to reduce the risk of cross‑contamination.
