PostNord changes delivery of small parcels: "All small parcels shall be delivered on the first attempt"
As of 1 November 2021, all first-class small parcels will automatically be delivered to your door. In April last year, PostNord lowered the cost of the "Delivery to door" add-on, which can be used if the shipment is too large for the mailbox. The hope was that the popular Small Parcel service would be left outside the door to a greater extent. But according to the CEO of PostNord Sweden, Mathias Krümmel, it did not quite turn out as they had intended, and he announced via social media that:
"Of all the Small Parcels sent, approximately 15 percent cannot be delivered in the mailbox or at the door and instead are delivered to a service point. From 1 November, home delivery of Small Parcels will be guaranteed."
The change therefore means that, as of 1 November, small parcels that do not fit in the mailbox will be delivered either at the door or in a bag outside the mailbox (depending on whether delivery takes place in or outside an urban area). "Delivery to door" will thus be included in the service and become a standard product, without any price changes.
