In this post we will explain the five most recognizable signs that tell you as a vaper when it is time to replace your old coil with a new one. Not replacing your coil will result in your vaping experience becoming significantly worse; you will get a burnt taste - and the e-cigarette will leak.

You should replace your e-cig coil at regular intervals; hopefully after this post you'll have full control over when you need to replace your coil.
The post doesn't take long to read and we recommend that you read the entire post to gain a full understanding of when you need to replace your coil. We have all been new vapers, and the more you know about vaping the better it gets, and vaping becomes incredibly better with a new and fresh coil that's ready to vaporize your e-liquid. We'll start with the list below:

  • Burnt taste
  • Bubbling sounds
  • Flavor reduction
  • Vapor production is reduced
  • Leakage

Burnt taste

The most recognizable sign when you need to replace your coil is that the vapor you inhale tastes burnt. Why the coil becomes burnt is, in most cases, because the liquid reservoir hasn't had enough e-liquid so that the cotton in the coil has dried out, which results in the burnt taste; the coil can also burn if the e-liquid has too high VG content and the e-cigarette doesn't have enough power to vaporize the e-liquid, which results in the coil not being able to vaporize the "thick" e-liquid.

Bubbling sounds

In some cases the e-cigarette can emit a bubbling sound, the sound can also be "crackling". In most cases you should replace your atomizer.

However, the bubbling sound can also be due to the coil having sucked up too much e-liquid.

Flavor reduction

Another sign is that flavor production is dramatically reduced; if the e-liquid doesn't taste like it usually does, then the coil is probably starting to give up.

It is worth noting that e-liquids with sweet flavors tend to shorten the coil's lifespan considerably.

Vapor production is reduced

The fourth sign is that vapor production is reduced, like flavor reduction you notice fairly quickly if vapor production has started to decline. Reduction of flavor and vapor production often go hand in hand.

Leakage

The last sign is that the e-cigarette leaks, usually from the air flow, what happens is that the cotton in the e-cigarette can't seal, and the e-liquid flows through the coil and out of the air flow. It is strongly recommended to close the air flow while you refill the liquid reservoir with new e-liquid.

After reading this post, you now have full knowledge of when you need to replace your coil; a coil's lifespan varies depending on which e-liquid you use as well as what power (watt).
